A bumper pack of resources linked to your Letters and Sounds and / or Phonics work. The pack contains 37 sheets in all. Sheet 1 is a phonics planning sheet with objectives, activities, resources and assessment. This can be dipped in and out of or followed over a period of time at your pace. The sheets are also useful for assessment or consolidation. Sheets 2 to 7 are labelling sheets. Here, children name the objects / pictures and label them for each of the letters S A T P I and N. Next there are 5 sheets for each letter sound - S A T P I N - 30 in total. e.g. for N, the sheets are, nest, nail, nine, net and nut. The children can practice their handwriting and fine motor control here. They have the opportunities to overwrite, underwrite or write free hand.

A writing activity where children observe and discuss the picture of a park and then write a key word or words for each letter of the alphabet in the grid. Next children use the key words and the ideas they have talked about to write a story of their own about the park or an information text. They can illustrate their writing.

4 worksheets where children work out the words from the anagrams and then match them to the pictures. There are 3 words and pictures to match on each page.

5 worksheets where children find 8 words or more within the words given. These are: princess, celebration, fireworks, birthday and Christmas. On each sheet, children write a list of the words they have found. The final sheet gives a list of 8 words for each of the key words as examples.

5 story boards to spark children’s imaginations and creative writing at KS1. Children can work alone or in pairs / small gourps. Or work in guided groups with an adult to support/scribe. Encourage speaking and listening and sharing ideas before children put pencil to paper. Each board contains pictures and words beginning with a vowel - a,e,i,o and u. The object of the activity is for children to use all the words to create a story. Some examples of story openers are: The ox and the octopus came over to see the old man… The unicorn was underwater when… Inside the igloo the insects ate ice cream… Children can illustrate their pictures and share their stories in group / circle time. There is a blank template for you to create more story boards using other letters of the alphabet.

An activity for children learning to use a dictionary. They can choose 10 words from the list to find the meaning of. They can then write their words and meanings on the sheet provided. A blank word template is included.
